Environments in perspective

In-Class Demo 3/25/20

Drawings by Eric Anderson and Matt Zywica

Salient Ideas:

  • Figures can be used as a unit of measurement to demonstrate scale
  • Objects can be created in two-point perspective and then used to develop the rest of the space proportionally
  • Conversely, you could begin making a space with set measurements and then adding objects into it
  • Orthographic views and isometric representations help show the precise proportions/dimensions — may be easier to communicate with a standard

Homework:

1: Develop a space with 10 cubes of different sizes

2: Draw a room in 2pt perspective, finding a space IRL and measuring it. Experiment with different POV.
